PGA’s web guide offers database of sustainable vendors

Paramount and DreamWorks Studios have signed on as sponsors of the PGA’s two-year-old Green Production Guide, joining Disney, Fox, Universal, Sony and Warner Bros.

The web-based guide provides access to a global database of nearly 2,000 vendors offering sustainable or environmentally-sensitive services and products along with a “carbon calculator” to measure carbon emissions of their production.

“Such wide industry support for the guild initiative is a true testament to the Green Production Guide’s utility and convenience and our industry’s dedication to creating a greener and cleaner world,” said PGA president Mark Gordon.

The PGA has also released the Green Vendor Widget as a tool giving film commissions and other entities the ability to embed customized versions of the Green Production Guide within their own digital properties. The tool is already in use by film commissions in California, Georgia, Massachusetts and Oregon.
