ABC FAMILY TV PILOT ‘TERMINALES,’ PRODUCED BY LIONSGATE AND TELEVISA,
TO BE SHOT ENTIRELY IN MASSACHUSETTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BOSTON. MA. October 24, 2012 – The Massachusetts Film Office (MFO) today announced that the English language TV drama pilot “Terminales,” produced by Lionsgate and Televisa for ABC Family, will be shot entirely in the Bay State.

This production is the second television pilot to film in Massachusetts this year.

“We are honored to be working with Lionsgate, Televisa and ABC Family on this project,” said Lisa Strout, Director of the Massachusetts Film Office. “With our world-class crew and talent, outstanding locations, and strong production tax incentive program, Massachusetts is primed and ready, should this pilot go to series.”

Based on the Mexican drama by Televisa, the one-hour “Terminales” centers on the life of April, a young woman played by Italia Ricci (“Unnatural History,” “Secret Girlfriend”), after she is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Mary Page Keller will play Sara, the widowed mother to April and her teenage sister, Brenna. Keller, whose credits include arcs on the daytime series “Ryan’s Hope” and “Another World,” recently guest starred on “Pretty Little Liars,” “Hart of Dixie,” “Perception” and “Supernatural.” Aaron Kaplan (“GCB,” “Terra Nova”) will serve as executive producer on the Lionsgate/Televisa project. Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz, who wrote the pilot, also serve as executive producers.

P3 Update Magazine recently ranked Massachusetts in the Top 10 locations, worldwide and last year Boston was named the Top City for film production in the United States, both highly coveted distinctions. In 2011, the feature films shot in the Commonwealth generating an aggregated spend by these productions of $222 million, according to Department of Revenue estimates. On the NBC/Universal film, “R.I.P.D.” alone, over 900 local crew members were hired, as well as over 1,000 background actors.

MOTT and the MFO remain committed to ensuring Massachusetts is a choice destination for film, television, and commercial investment and maximizing the return on investment of the film tax credit program
