Internships
The Massachusetts Film Office (MFO) is the state agency that markets the Commonwealth as a location for feature films and television projects. Recent films the MFO worked on include The Holdovers, American Fiction and Madam Web.
We offer up to three internship opportunities – spring, summer and fall, —based on departmental needs.
When positions are available, we typically select 1 intern each semester to assist the MFO with film related projects and industry support activities.
Internships MUST be confirmed with proper paperwork from an accredited college/university.
This is a paid internship.
Accepting applications for SUMMER 2026 until April 6, 2026
Requirements
Students should be entering either their junior or senior year of college or be a graduate student majoring in film or television production.
Interns must work at least 15 hours per week for the duration of the academic semester.
Interns must be physically located in Massachusetts, as responsibilities may include assisting with location scouting and other in-state activities.
Application Process
The application process is handled by our HR department via an HR Portal. ONLY applications submitted using the designated application link will be considered.
ONLY applicants being considered will be contacted for a ZOOM/TEAMS interview. We do not interview every applicant.
For international internship applicants, please note, our office will not be responsible for assisting any applicant with a VISA to work in the United States.
To ensure fairness and consistency in the process:
Please do not contact the Film Office or HR directly by email or phone regarding internship applications.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept or review resumes, cover letters, or materials submitted outside of the HR portal, and inquiries sent directly to the office cannot be processed.
IIf the application link is not accessible, the portal is closed. While we understand this may be frustrating, applications can only be accepted and processed when the portal is active.
Because internships are offered on an as-needed basis, we do not have a confirmed timeline for when the portal will reopen each semester.
We appreciate your interest in supporting film and television production in Massachusetts and encourage you to check the portal link periodically for future opportunities.
