The Commercial Directors Diversity Program Accepting Applications

The CDDP’s mission is to foster awareness and increase directing opportunities for women and other historically underrepresented groups of people through a targeted program of outreach, mentorship and exposure.

We will select 12-15 Participants for the 2020 CDD program. 5 Directing Fellows will also be teamed with a mentoring production company, receive a $15k grant and create a spec commercial; and 10-12 Finalists will participate in the 2 month workshop series.

Created during contract talks between the AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers) and the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP) reflects the commitment of both organizations to effect change and increase the representation of women directors and other historically under-represented groups specializing in commercials and marketing communications. The CDDP works to pair unsigned women directors and other historically under-represented groups with production companies, and to increase the number of these directors within the ranks of the DGA membership as well as increase the number of these groups signed to and working through commercial production companies.

The deadline to enter work to be considered for The Commercial Directors Diversity Program is:
11:59PM PST, January 31st, 2023.
